“Just about anything with a photograph!”
The concept of Pixalls
began during a stroll through
Historic Downtown Willoughby
in May of 2009. Passing a
vacant store front that housed
a tattoo parlor for 13 years
and an appliance store before
that, we immediately saw
the potential for a retail
photo art gallery and
photography studio.
After six weeks of long,
hard days and nights of
scraping, painting and re-
modeling Pixalls Photoart
Gallery & Studio was born
and ready to open the
day of the annual
Willoughby Arts Fest
in July, 2009.
Pat and Tom Norris moved to Willoughby in
1989. Their dream had been to open a photo
retail business providing quality photo
services at a reasonable price.
Tom fell in love with “light art” (photography)
the day he snapped his first 620 B&W picture
in 1958 with an Argus camera (in the camera
display case along with about two dozen
vintage to modern film cameras). He began
working with digital images back in ‘88 when
he used a Diamond Flower hand scanner to
work with photos and text in a digitally
produced book, two years before Photoshop 1.0
was released! Tom is a member of the
National Association of Photoshop Professionals.
Pat is the Gallery Manager, and a photographer
in her own right with several of the over 100
displayed photo art pieces being created by her.
